Art Preparator The Block Museum of Art - 2021 to 2022

Managed the taproom gift shop and online store, composing product photography and automating inventory syncing between platforms. Packaged and shipped merchandise. Administered CRM, DNS, email services, and marketing. Coordinated events such as beer festivals and various parties, from weddings to political campaign gatherings. Orchestrated the transition to curbside pickup and delivery by setting up a Square-integrated site, overseeing inventory and training staff.

Director of Technology, Project Manager, & Assistant to Publisher/Editor Public Media Institute Chicago IL - 2009 to 2020

• Provided daily web development, copy editing, publishing, and email newsletters for the Quarantine Times.
• Shaped and established Buddy, a shop in the Chicago Cultural Center. Composed a proposal selected by the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, created the launch website for vendors and artists to apply, engaged social media audiences, selected artists and makers in Chicago for retail consignment.
• Opened (Con)Temporary Art Space bookstore and gallery pop-up downtown in 2010. Sold books, curated & promoted shows.
• Co-organizer for Version Festival 2009-2016 — events each year that included film and video screenings, live performances, public interventions, fashion shows, installations, webcasting, funding for pop ups, parades, etc.
• Launched the PMI Research Library that made its debut at the 2010 Next Fair. It was a collection of art, architecture and design periodicals. The library was a site of interaction and research for individuals interested in hard to find and unique publications. PMIRL was created to establish a dialogue about new urbanism, contemporary art, and graphic design.
• Former manager at the Co-Prosperity Sphere — Installation work including painting, cleaning, lighting, A/V, web, fundraising, event planning and organizing. The gallery hosts exhibitions, screenings, presentations, installations, festivals, meetings, weddings, and performance programs in its 5,000+ square foot gallery.
• Assisted with editing and distro of Proximity, Lumpen, Matériel Magazines, & the Mash Tun Journal. Built websites and produced an online calendar directory of art openings and talks in the Chicago area. Attended shows to review, photograph, and publish on the web. Processed end to end shipment around the world, directly with subscriptions and through distributors.
• Coordinator for the 2011 and 2012 MDW Fair, a collaborative project between PMI, Document, Roots & Culture, and threewalls showcasing independent artists, galleries, and spaces in Chicago. The fair featured more than 75 exhibitors, publishers, and performers first in the Geolofts and then in Mana Contemporary Art Center in Bridgeport, Chicago.
• Co-director, co-founder of the SMALL Manufacturing Alliance, promoting local businesses by facilitating various aid including print material, web publishing, event hosting, street fairs, and more. Curated the SMALL Showroom at Co-Prosperity and opened the SMALL Ordinary Shop at the Chicago Cultural Center, and organized the Above the Pavement Street Fair.
• Web developer for Lumpen Radio 105.5 FM. Handled technical aspects of launching the radio stream, developed the original website, R&D for the app, created RSS podcasts for shows and uploaded weekly to itunes/spotify, promoted and coordinated events, fundraisers, and memberships via social media, email marketing, graphic design, and membership incentives.

Art Director Paratext Books Chicago, IL - 2012

Opened Paratext Books, a pop up bookstore gallery in Bridgeport for the Version Festival. Organized programming including free film screenings, activist talks, art exhibits, workshops for adults and children. Curated several art shows, designed the branding for web and print.

Freelance Web Developer 2010 to present

Strong problem solving and debugging skills as well as a talent for designing cross browser compatible sites. Handled end-to-end verbal and written communications with clients. Contributed to the maintenance of network infrastructure and upkeep of the printing labs. Diagnosed hardware and software issues. Provided equipment and on-site tech support to faculty and students at two campuses of the Corcoran College of Art & Design as well as the staff at Corcoran Gallery of Art.
